RUNE Entertainment
Rune Entertainment, stylized as Lune, is a South Korean entertainment company located in Gangnam, Seoul. It operates as a record label, music production company, music publishing house and event and concert organizer. It was founded on March 1st 1993 by Gong Joobi, a renowned musician and music manager. In 2019, Gong resigned as the CEO of Lune, but continues to operate as a share holder and business advisor, maintaining a role in management and artist development.
Ahn Heewon was appointed as the new CEO, who previously led the inhouse music production company, Hwa Sounds. Ahn was part of the 1st generation girlgroup, MaBelle (1998-2004), and has since ventured into the business side of K-pop.
Rune Ent. has delivered one successful girlgroup after another. Mélomanie in 2011, LARK in 2014, Wisteria in 2020 and JoyRide in 2024, each group shaped their respective generations, in one way or another, holding onto the legacy of their entertainment.
Lune is a force to be reckoned in the field of Korean pop entertainment and is known as one of the Top5 leading companies. However, the music field is changing and even Lune is struggling. Their past was glorious, their present is fighting and their future will be as uncertain as the industry's everchanging demands.
